Props, blocks, straps, modifications and hands-on assists are available for students to find accessibility in our practice.
Mysore
WEEKDAYS from 6:30-9:30am and 5:00-7:00pm The shala is open to students as early as 5:30am and until 7pm in the evenings. The Mysore method of teaching is the traditional method for learning the Ashtanga yoga practice as taught in Mysore, India. Each student is taught the Ashtanga Series one-on-one by a highly-trained teacher in a group setting. Modifications and assists are offered. The student builds a solid self-practice.
Intro to Ashtanga
Saturdays 10:30-11:30am If you haven’t tried Ashtanga Yoga before, this class will give you the chance to check out our method. A regular class with a teacher up front teaching the group. Very accessible. Good for folks in their first few months of Mysore practice.
Led Primary Series
Sundays 9:00-10:30am A traditional led class that follows the Sanskrit count. This is a challenging practice and is meant to be experienced after studying in the Mysore setting. In-person and online.
Led Half-Primary
Sundays 4:15-5:15pm For students who are working towards or up to navasana in Primary Series. This is a counted practice and teaches you to move on the breath. In-Person and Online.
Pranayama/Meditation
Saturdays 8:00-9:00am We will practice traditional pranayama followed by a guided meditation. In-Person and Online.
Chanting/Philosophy
Sundays 8:00-9:00am Chant the Yoga Sutras and explore their meaning. Learn Shanti Mantras and well as other devotional chants. Includes topical discussion. In-Person and Online.
Black Lotus Vinyasa
Saturdays 9:00-10:15am.Ty Landrum has created a beautiful new system of vinyasa yoga that we will practice in this class. Not on first Saturdays. No experience neccessary.
Led Intermediate Series
First Saturdays 9:00-10:15am A traditional, counted Second Series. This is an advanced practice, appropriate for students who have been taught a regularly practice the Intermediate Series up to Eka Pada Sirsasana. In-Person and Online.
Prenatal Yoga
Sundays 10:45am-12:15pm Pregnancy and new parenthood is a time full of physical, emotional and spiritual growth. This yoga practice is designed to bring people in the childbearing year into community with other mothers and into connection with their birthing bodies and their babies. Prenatal yoga alleviates common pregnancy discomforts, promotes relaxation and helps to prepare the body, mind and spirit for childbirth. Though this class is designed for expectant mothers, we welcome new moms and their babies 6 weeks postpartum. $12 per class, 10-Class Card for $100.
Mama-Baby Postpartum Yoga
Sundays 12:30pm - 1:45pm A class that you can share with your young baby. $12 per class, 10-Class Card for $100.
Private Yoga w/Carroll Ann OR Liam
You will receive external and subtle-body alignment of the asanas of the primary and intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga. You may also request a pre-natal yoga class, yoga for arthritis or yoga for scoliosis or a particular injury or limitation. In this one-on-one class, you will have full attention and loads of hands-on assists during this hour. Offered in-person or online. An amazing way to revitalize your practice! $40 per hour. $10 for a second person in the class.
Mysore Apprenticeship
If you have studied with us regularly for 6 months and have received a 200HR Yoga Teacher Training from the Ivy Yoga School or another classical yoga school, you may be interested in our Apprentice Program. This continuing education will teach you to assist the main teacher in a Mysore class. The 3-month course will mentor you in giving hands-on assists to students and teach you how to modify poses for students as appropriate. Regular participation in our Mysore Program + one class per week assisting in the Mysore room is required for the course. Please contact Carroll Ann to apply.
