Diversity, equity and inclusion…

…are at the heart of Ashtanga Yoga Charlottesville. AYC welcomes students and teachers from many backgrounds and identities along a number of dimensions, including but not limited to gender and gender identity, ethnicity, race, age, religion, spiritual belief, sexual orientation, place of origin, neurodiversity, class background, veteran status, and disability. AYC is committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within its daily yoga classes and teacher trainings. We are especially committed to increasing and supporting the representation of those populations that have been historically excluded from, or marginalized within, the practice of yoga.

You will have an opportunity to share your pronouns with us on our release form when you come to your first class.

Part of our commitment to diversity in yoga is to make our classes financially accessible.

If money is a barrier to yoga for you, please email ashtangayogacville@gmail.com and we will offer you work-study, reduced fees or a full scholarship depending on your circumstances.
