WEEKEND SCHEDULE:
FRIDAY:
3:30-5:30pm- Mysore Practice
6:00-8:00pm- Fortify Your First Series
This class will focus on how to make best use of primary series by exploring the actions of the postures and how to create ” the immovable spot” in each pose. We’ll investigate the importance of the trnasitions into and out of poses and identify effective ways for learning the jump back and jump through. The content of the class will also reinforce your understanding of the connection between the twin patterns of the breath and vinyasa sequencing as a means to help you to develop and refine your asana understanding. Great for teachers and students of all levels.
SATURDAY:
9:00-11:30pm-Fuel Your Fire for the 2nd Series
Join us in the rousing class and receive insights into the challenging asanas of this beautiful series. We’ll study backbending principles by detailing the asanas that lead up to the formidable kapotasana. We’ll also look into the other favorites such as bakasana, eka pada sirsasana, pincha mayurasana, and karandavasana. Intended for students who practice or are learning 2nd series or students that have an established 1st series practice and are ready for adventure.
12:30-2:30pm-Precision, Purification, and Practice – Discussion
This discussion will focus on how the concept of Nadi Shodana, cleansing of the pranic channels, can give insights into yoga practice. Prana Vidya, knowledge of prana, is the practice of valuing your energetic pathways, of following precisely where your energy goes in its variety of forms: physical, thought, fantasy, dream, response, and action. We’ll discuss how purification is not limited to the tapas that you create during practice, but rather how cleansing encompasses your entire person. We’ll explore what sort of states can open up within you off the mat through the simple step of choosing to work with more precision in your asana practice.
2:30-4:30pm – Asana Kitchen
Is there a specific asana that is nagging or troubling you? David’s Asana Kitchen, based on his popular online video series. Students will write down their asana questions and David will make a selection based on the most popular questions. Then we will dive in to see what we can discover about the selected asanas. We’ll look at each of the asanas in a progression, step by step in order to benefit a range of students from beginner to advanced. This class is suitable for all levels.
