Dominique Clothiaux, RYT is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga and has practiced yoga since her travels to India in 1997. Her primary asana training came from the Iyengar tradition and later evolved into a more feminine practice of exploring the subtle body movements. She has practiced Ashtanga Yoga since 2008. Her goal as a teacher is to encourage a higher standard of physical well being while providing a safe environment for personal growth. She has a growing knowledge of yoga therapy, including yoga for ailments, Ayurveda, somatics, injury and trauma recovery. She studies regularly with senior yoga teachers to advance her training and to keep her teaching fresh and inspired.
Some of the teachers who she has worked with and, influence her understanding of yoga are Sharon Rieter, Patricia Walden, John Schmucker, Angela Farmer, Lynn Minton, Baba Hari Das, Jennifer Elliot and Tim Miller. Her practice has much meaning to her personally, and is in constant evolution of her growth and knowledge. Her unique teaching style is informative and creative, as she draws from a wide range of understandings about meditation and the subtle body.
Dominique has also studied Modern Dance, Continuum Movement Theory, Ecstatic Dance, and other forms of Dance Therapy since 2001. She is a Pheonix Rising Yoga Therapist, a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and Midwife.
